The MTS Iceplex hosts a number of tournaments on a yearly basis with several options each season for youth and adult recreational hockey players of all ages and abilities. Whether it is from house league, sanctioned minor hockey, spring, summer AAA or adult recreational players, our tournaments will be the very best anywhere!
We are thrilled to work on behalf of many local minor hockey associations who are a part of the Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association (WMHA) and Hockey Manitoba.
In each case, our goal will be to provide minor hockey players, coaches and families with their very best memories of the season, with great competition, thoughtful scheduling, music, announcing, great prizing, and a list of facility amenities not found anywhere else.
In 2012-13 we held the first annual Winnipeg Jets Challenge Cup tournament that saw 102 teams playing 251 games over 10 days. The tournament welcomed young hockey players from four to 12 years of age and countless parents and relatives who cheered them on. The tournament has grown each year in which the 2015 Challenge Cup had 169 participating teams and 436 total games played.
The 2016-17 Challenge Cup Tournament dates will be confirmed in the summer of 2016 and will be bigger and better than last year. If you wish to register a team please contact us at 204-926-5883 OR CHALLENGECUP@TRUENORTH.MB.CA.
